About Monkhopton Estate Shoot
Sport at Monkhopton is predominantly driven pheasant and partridge, but with a wide variety of other wild species of bird found in large numbers on the estate. All pheasants and partridges are reared on the grounds by the Head Keeper ensuring only quality birds are released. Bags between 100-200 are advised. Average ratio of 4:1 shots.
Land & Topography
Monkhopton Estate is situated between Bridgnorth and Much Wenlock at the edge of the Shropshire Hills and benefits from its natural undulating topography which makes it ideal sporting ground. The Estate’s topography is enhanced with coppices planted specifically to support the shoot. The strategic placement of cover crops, the graceful contours of valleys, and the optimal positioning of woodlands enable the Estate to present highly challenging birds, testing even the most skilled shots.
Typical Itinerary
An average day would consist of meeting at our shoot cabin for an optional breakfast where pegs will be drawn. Moving onto the first drive as early as we see fit, just a short drive from the cabin usually within 20 minutes you will be on peg. All drives are easily accessible by most 4x4’s but transportation can be arranged if required. After the second drive has finished complimentary drinks will be supplied before the third drive is started. After the third drive light lunch and drinks will be supplied, before moving on into the afternoon where the other drives will take place. The game can be viewed at the end of the day. You will be invited back to the cabin for the two-course meal and drinks that are included with you're day.

Conservation Efforts
We have wild bird seed and stewardship schemes in place integrated within the game covers and headlands. We believe it is most important that shooting co-exists with the British countryside ecosystem. By doing our best to aid the wildlife within our ecosystems we can enjoy our sport knowing we are maximizing how we positively impact the natural environment.
The Hosts
An extensive knowledge of the ground is always expected of the host. You will be guided through your day by experienced hosts who work extremely closely with the Head Keeper, beaters and pickers up to ensure you get the most out of your days shooting at Monkhopton.
Pheasant & Partridge Availability
We have a number of let days available. Offering 150 birds or more per day which are mixed of partridge and pheasant with full hospitality, at £47 per bird. Challenging terrain provides shooting for the most confident of shots.
